Michael Severens studied at the New England Conservatory in Boston, at Bennington College in Vermont and received a master's degree in performance from the California Institute of the Arts. He has performed in several international festivals including the Festival Internacional de Musica Contemporanea de Havana, Cuba and the Festival Internacional Cervantino. His recordings range from classical to rock including St Luke's Chamber Orchestra of New York, Bennington Cello Quartet, Donovan and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. He is currently playing cello with l'Orquesta Sinfonica de la Universidad de Guanajuato.
